Your local recovery community
Recovery Connections joined the STRIDE Partnership in Darlington, in 2023. Providing lived experience recovery support, in the form of groupwork, activities, 1-2-1’s, IPS Employment, and harm reduction, the team are based in Coniscliffe Road, alongside staff from With You and the Darlington Borough Council Access Team. Together, we form the STRIDE (Supporting Treatment & Recovery in Darlington Through Empowerment).
We invite anybody who has struggled with alcohol or drugs to meet with us, and access free, person-centred, lived experience support. And what does this mean? That your recovery coach will be someone who not only understands what you’re going through, but has been in a similar position themselves. This personal experience of recovery from addiction is here for you, and ready to help.

How do I get started with recovery support in Darlington
You can self-refer to RC Darlington either by phone or in person, but you will first need to register and have an assessment with We Are With You. Participation with We Are With You, is optional after this step.
Together as a partnership, we offer a drop-in assessment at Tubwell Row from 9:30am to 3pm daily, or you can book an appointment if you prefer.
During your assessment, you’ll receive a starter pack that includes a community timetable.
Recovery Connections will then reach out to invite you for an initial one-to-one meeting with your assigned worker, to discuss what support looks like for you and how we can help.
At this stage, we’ll complete an initial assessment with you. Our Access team, in partnership with We Are With You and Recovery Connections, can also visit you in the community to encourage your engagement or help you attend groups if you have mobility issues.
