We are proud to relaunch our Bereavement Support Group in Middlesbrough — a safe, understanding space for friends, families, and anyone who has lost a loved one due to drug or alcohol use. Grief after this kind of loss can feel especially complex, and no one should have to face it alone. This group offers the chance to connect with others who understand, share experiences if you want to, and find comfort in a compassionate, non-judgemental environment.

The bereavement support group will take place every Monday from 5:00pm to 6:30pm at Bedford House in Middlesbrough. Whether your loss is recent or something you have been carrying for years, you are welcome to come along.

“Grief can feel incredibly isolating, especially after losing someone through drug or alcohol use. This group offers a safe and supportive space where people can come together, feel heard, and know they are not alone in their loss.” Rachel, Trauma Therapist, Recovery Connections.

Who is it for?

This free group is open to friends, family members, and anyone who is grieving the loss of a loved one due to drug or alcohol use.

What to expect

We recognise that this type of bereavement can feel particularly difficult to talk about. This group provides a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where people can share their experiences, connect with others who understand, and access support.

We believe that no one should feel stigma when speaking about their loss.
