We are delighted to announce that Recovery Connections has been shortlisted in two categories at the 2026 North East Charity Awards: Outstanding Contribution to Social Change and Uniquely North East.

Being recognised in not just one but two categories is a huge honour and reflects the dedication, compassion and commitment shown every day by our staff, volunteers, partners and the people who access our services.

The Outstanding Contribution to Social Change category recognises organisations creating meaningful and lasting change within their communities, while the Uniquely North East category celebrates organisations that embody the values, character and spirit of our region.

As a proud North East charity, Recovery Connections has always believed in the power of people and communities to create positive change. These shortlistings are recognition of the collective effort that helps people build recovery, improve wellbeing and realise their potential.

CEO, Dot Smith, commented:

“We are incredibly proud to have been shortlisted in both the Outstanding Contribution to Social Change and, for the first time, the Uniquely North East category. This recognition belongs to everyone involved with Recovery Connections, from our dedicated staff and volunteers to the individuals, families and communities we work alongside every day. Being shortlisted is a testament to the impact we can achieve together and to the strength, resilience and spirit of the North East.”

We would like to thank everyone who has supported Recovery Connections on our journey, and we look forward to celebrating alongside so many inspiring organisations at this year’s awards.
